A Weekend of Wool, Craft and Connection: Beatrice Bayliss at the Cotswold Wool Weekender

There’s something magical about autumn in the Cotswolds the soft golden light, the scent of woodsmoke and the gentle hum of countryside life easing into its slower rhythm. This year, that magic came alive at the Cotswold Wool Weekender, where we at Beatrice Bayliss were delighted to share our love for sustainable knitwear, natural fibres and the artistry of British craftsmanship.

A Celebration of Heritage and Heart

The Cotswolds has long been woven into Britain’s wool story, its rolling pastures once home to some of the finest fleeces in the world. Surrounded by fellow makers, shepherds and wool lovers, the event was a beautiful reminder that sustainability and heritage are not opposing ideas, but partners in timeless design.

Set against a backdrop of local farms, charming stalls and the comforting clatter of knitting needles, the weekend was a feast for the senses. There was laughter, conversation and a shared appreciation for all things woolly from the humble sheep to the exquisite garments it inspires.

Showcasing Conscious Luxury

Our stand featured a curated selection of Beatrice Bayliss favourites luxurious knits made from ethically sourced British wool, each piece designed to last for seasons, not trends. We loved meeting so many of you in person those curious about how our natural wools highlight their rich tones, or who simply wanted to feel the softness of pure, undyed wool. Each conversation reminded us why we do what we do: creating knitwear that connects people not just to their wardrobes, but to the story behind every stitch.

Community, Creativity and the Beauty of Slow Fashion

Beyond the fashion and fibre, the Cotswold Wool Weekender was about connection. We were inspired by the community of artisans and enthusiasts who came together to celebrate local production and slow, intentional living. There’s something deeply grounding about being among people who care as much about where their clothes come from as how they make them feel.

Until Next Time

As the weekend drew to a close, we left feeling inspired our hearts (and knitting baskets) full. Events like this remind us that sustainability isn’t a trend; it’s a tradition, one we’re proud to carry forward with every Beatrice Bayliss piece.
