A business update and the beginning of our next chapter.

A business update and the beginning of our next chapter. | Beatrice Bayliss

This year so far has been a year of incredible development and growth for Beatrice Bayliss, but, if I’m honest, it has also come at the cost of an extraordinary amount of stress behind the scenes. We’ve seen demand for our products grow significantly, expanded our stockist network internationally, sold out at shows and continued to introduce more people to the story behind British wool. But there’s one small problem with having a product where the raw material is only available once a year…

You can’t simply order more.

For a good chunk of this year, we’ve experienced stock shortages and delays as demand has outgrown the supply chain we originally built the business around.

In theory, running out of stock is the dream. In reality, running out of stock for half the year is… not quite so dreamy. So, rather than simply continuing to work around the problem, our founder Emily-Jane Bayliss has spent a significant amount of this year completely rethinking and rebuilding our supply chain.

It has been a huge amount of work, but it has also been one of the most important developments in the business to date.

We’re incredibly excited to welcome our new partners across Leeds, France and Essex, who will support Beatrice Bayliss through the next stage of our growth and, importantly, help us build a much more resilient supply chain for the years ahead. The aim is simple: to make sure our stock and production can grow alongside the demand for the brand.

So, to our existing stockists who have been patiently waiting for stock and to those considering stocking Beatrice Bayliss in the future thank you for your patience and your belief in what we’re building. We’re entering the next chapter with a much stronger foundation, a clearer supply chain and some very exciting plans ahead.

Here’s to the next chapter.
